Why are some runners exponentially more successful than others?

What do they know that you don't? How can they consistently run more, stay healthy, and always set new personal bests?

USA Track and FieldThe truth is, successful runners don’t act alone. They’re not making training decisions without the help of other top runners and coaches.

See, good decisions about race strategy, how to modify a training plan, or whether to skip a workout or make it up later are learned through years of experience and trial and error. So when a successful runners needs to make one of these decisions, they have a network of knowledge runners and coaches to turn to for help.

Do you?

I’m Jason Fitzgerald, a USATF (USA Track & Field) Level 1 Certified Coach and the author of the Top Amazon seller 101 Simple Ways to be a Better Runner.

I’ve helped thousands of runners run more consistently and break their Personal Records – without the injuries. And today, I’m thrilled to announce…

“Coaching Strategy Sessions” – the first time you can get immediate access to me for a personal coaching call to talk strategy, how to pace your race, or what to do when injury strikes.

Confused by what to do next?

Every single week, runners ask me detailed questions about their training. And truthfully, I just can’t answer them.

“I’ve been having regular calf cramps but my tune-up half marathon is coming up this weekend. Should I race it to see how much faster I’ve got, or should I treat it as just another long run?”

“I was really sore after my race last week so I took another day off. I’m trying to be a better, smarter runner and not over-train. I really don’t want to take a rest day at all on Friday because I lost the miles from taking Tuesday off but I have a long run the next day. Should I run tomorrow? My heart and my mind are saying two completely different things while my legs are usually caught in the crossfire.”

“I’m 8 weeks away from the start of my half marathon and I’d like to start incorporating higher intensity workouts into my training. Can you suggest the length of the intervals, the recovery, and the numbers? And for hill repetitions how long should they be?”

“My race is this weekend! My training has gone great but I’m not sure about my race strategy and pacing. Can you help with pacing so I can hit my goal time and finish strong?”

These are TOUGH questions!

As a coach, I can definitely help. I know what to do. And the runners in my 1-on-1 coaching program have unlimited access to me so we routinely go over these questions.

But if I’m not directly coaching you, how do I know what your running is like? Or your injury history? Or how you’ve progressed over the last 6 weeks?

This is one of those times when I wish I had a crystal ball so I could dispense coaching wisdom with zero effort!

But without the right support and coaching guidance, runners are struggling:

“I have a continual tendency to push just beyond the right amount of training, not allowing enough recovery or base time after big races…”

“I have a fear of injury with increased training…”

“I’ll have really good stretches of running for a month and feel great, then for no apparent reason I won’t run for a week or maybe even two. How can I fix this pattern?”

“I want to train harder and run faster but my injury is keeping me at a slower pace that I’d like.”

If there’s a common theme to the problems that runners face, it’s always wondering, “what if…?”

Instead of talking about problems, let’s talk about solutions.

Solutions that helped runners like Tony and Marcie:

“Ever since I implemented your suggestions I haven’t had even the slightest twinge on my IT Bands. I got 72k done last week, where the previous breaking point was approx 55k. I can actually do some workouts the day after my long run now, including a 6 x 1k interval session on a hill with slow jog recovery. Thanks again.” – Tony

“As far as I am concerned, your rates are a bargain.  When I think about what I have gotten I can honestly say that it is by far, the best investment and biggest return on that investment that I have ever made for myself.  It is truly hard for me to sometimes process what I have been able to accomplish.  No way I would even be remotely close to this without you.” – Marcie

Ryan“I was jumping from plan to plan trying to find something that worked for me.  I purchased a PR plan which was better prices than anything I found online to date. I followed the plan and not only did my running improve but I also felt more confident on my legs. I was stronger and I looked stronger as well. Then came the real test. After following Jasons PR plan I ran my second marathon and blew my PR out of the water by 46 minutes! Thanks Jason, I couldn’t have done it without you.” – Ryan W.
