Running injuries can happen at any time. Predicting when they strike is impossible.
BUT… there are certain times when running injuries are more likely. And if you know when those times are, you can be more cautious with your training.
You can then do a few things to help yourself stay healthy:
- scale back your harder workouts so they’re not as challenging
- run a little slower on your recovery days
- take better care of yourself with more sleep, less drinking (hey, we’re all human), and consistent strength work
